Rosita Cortizo, PsyD, LMFT, MA

What an extraordinary opportunity it is for me to assist unborn babies who are too young to speak for themselves and to empower their moms to heal and transform their lives.

I am a Pre-Perinatal high risk Clinical Psychologist who has had over 28 years of experience working with pregnant families. It has been a privilege to talk to babies in the womb, their mothers, fathers, couples, caregivers and their siblings. Everyone in the baby’s world matter,  particularly those who are the closest.

Developmental Approach

I enjoy helping mothers who have attachment difficulties, developmental anxiety, depression, developmental/adult post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), acute stress, recent or past trauma, relational challenges, considering adoption or abortion, fear of delivery, pregnancy’s ambivalence, self-doubt, facing separation and shame, painful memories of a past delivery, home adjustment, gestational diabetes, dysphoria,  unresolved or current post-partum depression/anxiety/trauma/psychosis, among other tribulations.

EMDR Therapy

I use a combination of models and interventions including EMDR therapy, Family therapy, Psychodynamic psychotherapy with “in utero” bonding and developmental guidance approach, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Imaginal Nurturing, attachment repair work, relaxation-self soothing-grounding practices and bonding exercises before and after birth.

The beauty of a mom is that no matter how many times your love is divided, it’s still whole
